Andrew Bardwell, an independent automotive engineer, recently took the 2013 Mazda CX-5 for a trip from Hope, B.C., over the highest point in the Rockies, down to Edmonton to see how much gas mileage the car would get.

After battling inclement weather and 14,000 feet of elevation the CX-5 didn’t quite make it to Edmonton but its mileage was an incredible 747 km which brought Bardwell all the way to Jasper.
